Acquisition Overview

Meta has acquired Conductor, an artificial intelligence startup that enables users to initiate software development projects by deploying multiple autonomous agents across parallel workspaces.

The transaction was disclosed following initial reports by external media outlets and subsequent confirmation by the startup through its corporate blog.

In a public statement, Conductor founder and chief executive Charlie Holtz announced that the team is joining Meta and preparing new interface releases slated for early next year.

Holtz also highlighted upcoming collaborations with leadership figures within Meta's artificial intelligence divisions.

Meta confirmed the corporate purchase without disclosing financial terms or additional transaction specifics.

Product Capabilities

Established in 2024, Conductor provides agentic teams that operate in local environments, cloud infrastructure, or mobile devices to assist engineers with compartmentalized tasks. The platform utilizes underlying foundational models developed by external laboratories including Anthropic and OpenAI.

Existing platform functionalities will remain operational temporarily, though the cloud service component is scheduled to terminate in November, accompanied by the removal of user cloud storage data.

Strategic Context

The purchase aligns with broader infrastructure efforts by Meta to strengthen its developer ecosystem and automated coding assistant offerings, building upon previously released proprietary agent tools and recent acquisitions in the sector.
