Editorial policy
BYTERMINAL publishes technology reporting and analysis under a simple standard: be accurate about the facts, transparent about the source and honest about what we know, what we infer and what remains uncertain.
Editorial independence
Advertising, affiliate relationships, manufacturers and retailers do not purchase favorable coverage, scores or placement. Commercial opportunities must not determine a verdict or prevent justified criticism. Sponsored material, if introduced, must be clearly labelled and kept distinct from independent editorial coverage.
Sources and evidence
We prefer primary documents, official announcements, direct statements, research papers and clearly identified reporting. Company claims are described as claims until independently supported. Rumors, leaks and forecasts must retain their uncertainty and must not be presented as confirmed facts.
Aggregation and attribution
BYTERMINAL may summarize and contextualize reporting from another publication. These stories must be independently written, must not reproduce distinctive source wording and must credit and link the original report. Attribution is not optional when a fact, test result, quotation or conclusion depends on another publisher’s work.
Automation and AI
Automation and language models may assist with extraction, rewriting, classification, search metadata and quality checks. Some source-based briefings may move through an automated publishing workflow. The system is instructed to preserve supported facts, remove source-site clutter and reject invented claims; it must never fabricate quotations, testing, measurements, specifications or first-hand experience.
Headlines and search metadata
Headlines, excerpts and search descriptions should accurately represent the article. Search-length targets are recommendations, not reasons to truncate meaning or reject otherwise useful copy. We do not use unsupported certainty, misleading urgency or a headline that promises something the article does not deliver.
Reviews, scores and recommendations
A review must make clear whether the observations come from BYTERMINAL or from a credited external review. Source-specific tests, scores and verdicts remain attributed to that source. We do not claim hands-on experience that did not occur, and we do not invent or mathematically convert a score when the evidence does not support one.
Corrections and updates
Material factual errors should be corrected promptly. An updated date may be used when meaningful information, context or conclusions change. Minor spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a separate notice. Readers and original publishers can report concerns through the contact page.
Conflicts and removal requests
A financial, personal or professional conflict relevant to coverage should be disclosed or avoided. We do not remove accurate coverage merely because it is unfavorable. We will consider requests involving demonstrable factual errors, rights violations, privacy risks or incorrect attribution on their merits.
