Review methodology
BYTERMINAL separates original hands-on evaluation from attributed summaries of reviews published elsewhere. The evidence available determines what we can responsibly say.
Two kinds of review coverage
An original BYTERMINAL review may describe testing performed for BYTERMINAL. An external review summary reports and contextualizes findings from a credited publication. External summaries must not use language that implies our team handled, measured or tested the product.
Evidence before conclusions
Claims about design, performance, display, battery life, software, comfort, reliability and value must be supported by the available review material. Measurements and test observations are attributed when they originate with another publication. Missing evidence is not filled with assumptions.
Scores
A numerical score is included only when it is supported by reliable review evidence. We preserve the meaning and scale of a credited source score rather than inventing a BYTERMINAL score or converting between rating systems. Component scores appear only when the corresponding evidence is available; they are not calculated merely to complete a chart.
Pros and cons
Pros and cons should be concise conclusions grounded in the review, not duplicated bullet points or marketing claims. A strength or weakness should appear once, use plain language and reflect a meaningful effect on the product experience.
Specifications and comparisons
Specifications are included only when they can be verified from the source material or reliable product documentation. Comparisons should use relevant products and comparable test conditions. A newer model is not automatically better, and a higher specification does not automatically produce a better experience.
Price and value
Value is judged in the context of the stated price, available alternatives, important compromises and the market at the time of publication. Prices, promotions and availability can change by retailer and region, so readers should confirm the final offer before purchasing.
Updates and long-term changes
Reviews may be updated after major firmware changes, recalls, price changes or new evidence that materially affects the verdict. An updated date indicates a meaningful editorial change; it does not imply that every aspect of the product was retested.
Affiliate independence
The presence or absence of an affiliate link does not determine the products covered, the evidence included, the score or the verdict. A recommendation should remain useful even when no commission is available.
