AI Agent Expansion

Meta announced an expansion of its AI agent Muse to small businesses alongside new integrations with platforms such as Shopify, Dropbox, and Slack. The company states the agent is designed to assist owners with business operations and customer acquisition.

By integrating Muse into existing business software used for sales, operations, and marketing, Meta aims to provide an operational context that differentiates it from standalone chatbots as competition intensifies against rivals like OpenAI and Google.

The agent can connect to Instagram professional accounts, Facebook pages, and Meta ad accounts. According to Meta, Muse maintains awareness of product inventory, brand tone, and frequent customer inquiries.

Additional software integrations include Asana, Box, Canva, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Stripe, and Zoom.

Meta noted in a company statement that the product was developed to address time constraints faced by small business owners by integrating with tools they already utilize.

Enterprise Strategy

The release follows the introduction of the Meta Enterprise Platform, an initiative designed to scale AI offerings to corporate customers and commercial entities as the company seeks returns on its AI investments.

MongoDB CEO Chirantan Desai was hired to lead the new enterprise initiative.

Meta plans to deliver its full technology stack, including Muse, the Meta Business Agent, the Muse API, and Muse Code, to developers and business clients.

The enterprise rollout builds on the initial release of Muse earlier in the month, which previously climbed app store charts in the United States and Canada.
