CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed the device during the company’s annual Connect event, noting that it is not yet ready for immediate shipping while the team finalizes component layouts. Zuckerberg stated that the devices are scheduled to ship in time for the holidays in December.
The Muse agent features a digital avatar known internally as Jolly, housed within a palm-sized totem that users can carry in pockets or attach to keychains. The device includes a small screen displaying the avatar and supports voice interaction to execute tasks.
Zuckerberg highlighted the hardware integration during the keynote, explaining that the system packages the real-time voice and avatar stack into a portable format featuring a fingerprint sensor for immediate activation without unlocking a phone.
He noted that the device serves as a rapid method to communicate with the Muse agent and share environmental context for users not wearing smart glasses.
The gadget incorporates a lightweight design intended to maintain user connectivity to Meta’s software ecosystem, providing an exploratory approach to AI wearables and software distribution.
