Custom Fan Recreation
ASML launched a Lego kit version of the TWINSCAN EXE:5000, the world’s first High-NA EUV machine, in December 2024. Because ASML restricts these products to employees, the company canceled orders from non-employees, driving up collector demand. Current resale listings show prices between $500 and $700, considerably higher than the initial $230 official company store price. However, a creator has shared an alternative recreation of the kit on Rebrickable featuring custom modifications.
The custom builder noted that while the original corporate kit was impressive, they designed a modified version using reference photos of actual equipment to improve structural accuracy. Additions include interior details such as vacuum pumps, a laser emitter, reflectors, and a functional sliding silicon wafer tray.
The custom ASML TWINSCAN EXE:5000 project requires 152 unique parts and a total of 810 bricks. The builder reported spending about a week completing the project, and PDF instructions are provided for free on the Rebrickable platform. Builders can source parts individually, though certain rare components may present acquisition challenges.
Corporate Collectibles and Swag
Official semiconductor company merchandise remains difficult for the general public to acquire. Specialized corporate items from firms like TSMC and SK hynix frequently appear on secondary markets, where rare company-commissioned items and swag can command significant collector prices.
@lithos_graphein is also the same one who was able to get their hands on a rare ASML Special Edition Monopoly board, which was released in 2007, after they traded an official ASML Lego kit for the board game. Company-commissioned merch like this is often given or offered to employees, meaning the average shopper wouldn’t be able to purchase it brand new unless they have a relative working in that company who buys it for them. Other semiconductor companies that have sold merch like this include TSMC and SK hynix, with resellers who were able to get their hands on company swag and sell it online for as much as $16,700.
