Moon Lake Architecture
Following recent rollouts of Panther Lake and Wildcat Lake processors, details regarding Intel's upcoming Moon Lake chip have emerged. The low-power processor is rumored to feature four low-power-efficiency cores and zero performance cores.
The configuration is expected to utilize Darkmont LP-E silicon with the efficiency cores housed in a dedicated island. Expected thermal design power values range from 6 W to 15 W.

Target Market and Launch Timeline
The specifications suggest that Moon Lake will serve as the successor to Intel's N-series chips found in ultra-budget laptops and mini-PCs. The silicon is slated to launch in 2028, pending future fluctuations in memory and storage supply chains.
Performance Expectations
While specific clock speeds remain unannounced, the new architecture aims to deliver higher instructions per cycle and improved power efficiency compared to older designs.
By maintaining a 4-LPE core count and a 6 W TDP, upcoming systems utilizing Moon Lake are anticipated to deliver enhanced battery life for portable devices.
