DLSS 5 Neural Rendering Performance
Modders have extracted a newly released version of DLSS from NBA 2K27 and are running it on unsupported titles to evaluate the updated Neural Rendering model, observing significant speed improvements over previous iterations.
Following the extraction of the 310.9.16.0 DLSS NR build, performance tests on titles like The Witcher 3 indicate massive gains of up to 90 percent when comparing the new model directly against earlier leaked versions.
Efficiency and VRAM Improvements
Because running a full neural rendering model is resource-intensive, Nvidia reduced the size of the AI model by 24 percent. This optimization uses 20 percent less VRAM at 4K resolution and processes neural workloads up to twice as fast.
I Uploaded a new Video about the new DLSS 5 Model that got released by Nvidia. The new model can be up to 90% Faster (The Witcher 3) compared to the older one, but the performance boost varies depending on the game tested. Rather than expanding the parameter count of the AI model—which would require more memory than consumer graphics cards typically provide—Nvidia focused on making the architecture more efficient while lowering overall resource consumption.
Preset Comparisons and Modding
Comparing the models is streamlined because the updated DLL includes both versions as presets. Preset A corresponds to the legacy model, while Preset B activates the newer neural rendering architecture.
By injecting the technology into graphics pipelines using tools like RenoDX or OptiScaler, enthusiasts have also managed to adapt the runtime to support older hardware generations, such as RTX 20-series GPUs.
While Nvidia officially plans to bring DLSS 5 to RTX 40-series hardware without official support announcements for RTX 30- or 20-series cards, the modding community has bridged the gap independently.
