A permanent Pokémon store will open in London, with more locations outside Asia to follow

The new retail location is set to open by 2029.

Global Expansion

As it stands, Pokémon fans outside of Asia either have to travel to the continent or hope for a pop-up closer to home if they want to spend money at one of the brand's physical retail locations. That is changing, as The Pokémon Company says it is opening several permanent stores outside of Asia. The first of those will be in London and it is slated to open by 2029.

Pop-up Pokémon shops have appeared in London previously, including one at the Natural History Museum and others during the Pokémon European International Championships. Similar to past pop-ups, the permanent location will feature exclusive merchandise.

Gaku Susai, chief product and experience officer at The Pokémon Company International, stated that the new London store will provide visitors an immersive experience regardless of how long they have followed the franchise.

The company indicated that additional international locations will be announced in the future.
