Overview
Alongside a redesigned Kindle lineup featuring slimmer designs and zero bezels, Amazon has announced a new $34.99 accessory called the Kindle Click.
The Kindle Click is a compact Bluetooth remote designed to let readers turn pages without touching their Kindle screen, solving a common annoyance for e-reader users.
Use Cases
The small remote is intended for situations where touching the device is inconvenient, such as reading under blankets, on a treadmill, or with a Kindle resting on an airline tray table.
The accessory is compatible with newly announced Kindle devices as well as models released in 2024 and later.
Market Context
For years, Kindle owners relied on third-party accessories, many of which used clip-on mechanisms that physically tapped the display rather than communicating wirelessly.
With this release, Amazon enters a category populated by competitors like Rakuten Kobo, which launched its $29.99 Kobo Remote, and BOOX with its $29.99 Tappy wireless page turner.
Pricing and Ecosystem
While priced slightly higher than competing options, the official Kindle Click accompanies a redesigned e-reader lineup that features displays 30% faster at page turns than previous generations.
Amazon also revealed other hardware additions, including a magnetic cover with physical page-turn buttons and a charging dock stand for Signature Edition models.
