Apple now links directly to Hidden Histories podcast episodes within Maps for specific landmarks in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and Washington, DC. Selecting these locations reveals an in-app panel providing direct links to audio histories regarding the respective sites.
City Coverage
Tapping the panel opens an interface displaying other local landmarks featuring linked podcast guides. New York selections include Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Grand Central Terminal, and Studio 54. Los Angeles features episodes on the Hollywood Sign and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, while San Francisco includes sites such as Alcatraz.
The Hidden Histories podcasts are categorized under the Guides section of the application. Users can save these podcasts to personal collections using the plus icon, allowing for future listening by accessing the Your Guides panel from the lower section of the interface.
