Apple Updates Final Cut Camera to Support the iPhone 18 Pro Variable Aperture

The company is also rolling out new features across several of its Creator Studio apps.

Camera Controls

Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro variable aperture earlier this month and is now updating its software lineup to support the hardware. Final Cut Camera receives new controls for adjustable aperture and camera settings, alongside additional features for Creator Studio subscribers and non-subscribers.

The redesigned Final Cut Camera app improves access to ISO and white balance settings, while a two-finger tap clears the screen for a clean viewfinder view. Because Final Cut Camera allows remote control via Final Cut Pro, adjustments like aperture can also be performed from a nearby iPad or Mac. Furthermore, Final Cut Pro and Motion now support editing depth of field and focus points for footage captured on the iPhone 18 Pro.

Creator Studio Additions

Apple is also rolling out updates to Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Freeform, and Pixelmator Pro for Creator Studio subscribers, bringing new templates and themes. Keynote gains automatic image generation matching presentation content, while the iPad version of Pixelmator Pro adds Select and Mask tools ported from the Mac release.

General Updates

Several Creator Studio apps are receiving new features accessible to non-subscribers:

Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and Freeform now allow users to request access to view or edit shared files.

Pages introduces a Screen View option optimized for focused reading and writing.

Numbers adds support for new trigonometry, statistics, and logic functions.

Freeform boards now automatically adapt to device dark mode settings.

Freeform boards can also be organized into distinct collections.

Freeform includes full support for Apple Intelligence Writing Tools for text editing and generation.

Availability

The updates are rolling out across Apple applications, though certain capabilities depend on specific hardware or subscriptions, such as the iPhone 18 Pro requirement for Final Cut Camera features.
