Smaller Footprint and Faster Cooling
Sleep technology manufacturer Eight Sleep has introduced its latest smart mattress system, the Pod 6, featuring a reduced physical footprint designed to accommodate a wider variety of bed frames. The new hardware also introduces dedicated solo sizes built for single users, while offering thermal adjustments on either side that operate 20 percent faster than the previous generation.
The updated hub features a 50 percent smaller footprint compared to earlier models. According to the manufacturer, the device incorporates significantly more sensors to deliver precise temperature adjustments for individual users, even when sleeping closely together. The system is also designed to filter out tracking interference from children or pets sharing the bed.
Pricing and Availability
The Pod 6 launches across more than 37 countries, with pricing starting at $1,999 for solo configurations and $2,699 for standard models. Solo versions accommodate twin beds as well as one side of queen, king, and California king beds. Standard dimensions are offered in queen, king, and California king sizes, with full compatibility maintained for existing accessories such as blankets, pillow covers, and bases.

Regulatory Goals and Global Growth
Alongside consumer hardware updates, the company is pursuing clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to transition its mattress system into a regulated medical device capable of monitoring sleep apnea.
The company recently secured $50 million in funding at a $1.5 billion valuation and expanded its distribution to international markets including China, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Singapore, with China emerging as a rapidly expanding market.
International sales currently represent over 30 percent of total revenue, with future expansion planned for additional regions in Asia and Latin America. Leadership noted that the firm is closely monitoring component availability constraints across the electronics industry.
Supply chain adjustments are underway to address market shifts driven by high demand for components from artificial intelligence infrastructure, particularly as consumer wellness hardware incorporates more computing power for advanced software features.
