Everything Amazon has announced so far in October 2026

Every week, the company has been introducing new devices and products. So here's a nifty roundup.

Rather than hold a standard fall hardware event, Amazon has been announcing new products piecemeal over the last several weeks. It's a savvy move on the company's part to help keep its devices in consumers' minds instead of revealing a ton of stuff all at once that people may quickly forget about.

It seems the company's chief of Alexa and devices Panos Panay might agree. He stated that releasing products over time allows teams behind the devices to receive proper recognition.

Amazon unveiled a new lineup of tablets featuring direct access to the Google Play Store, alongside a fresh batch of Kindles, updated Ring smart home gear, and a new Fire TV Stick 4K.

Here's a breakdown of the new devices Amazon has announced so far in October.

Alexa tablets

Amazon is transitioning away from Fire tablets to a new lineup of devices. Alexa tablets will be available in the US, Mexico, and Canada on October 14, and in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain five days later. They come in three sizes.

The Alexa Tablet 8 starts at $230 with an 8.7-inch display, an 8-core CPU, 2-core GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of storage. It is 0.3 inches thick, weighs 16.4 ounces, and offers up to 14 hours of video playback.

The Alexa Tablet 11 boasts a 2.5K, 11-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio. It features an 8-core CPU, fifth-gen MDLA NPU, 8GB of RAM, and dual Dolby Atmos speakers. Battery life reaches up to 15 hours, starting at $330.

The flagship Alexa Tablet 12 Pro costs $500 and features a 12-inch, 280 PPI display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3:2 aspect ratio. It includes an 8-core CPU, 7-core GPU, 8th-gen MDLA NPU, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, with a fingerprint sensor.

An anti-glare display option called Nanomatte is available for an extra $50 to preserve detail and color accuracy.

Designed for productivity, the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro supports accessories like the $90 Alexa Tablet Pro Pen and the $150 magnetically connected Alexa Tablet Pro Keyboard.

All tablets feature integrated Alexa capabilities, distraction-free Kindle reading features, and reduced blue light support.

Kids versions of the Alexa Tablet 8 and Alexa Tablet 11 feature durable aluminum designs with protective kid-proof cases and one year of Amazon Kids+ access.

Amazon has replaced Fire OS with Android 16 on these tablets, providing direct access to the Google Play Store, though they lack a microSD card slot.

Kindles

Amazon's latest standard Kindle starts at $150, with an extra $20 charge required to remove lockscreen advertisements.

The six-inch model measures 6.8mm thick, weighs five ounces, opens books 30 percent faster than its predecessor, and delivers up to six weeks of battery life.

An aluminum casing variant with 32GB of storage is available for $190 in Alpine Sky and Seaglass Green color options.

The latest Kindle Paperwhite features a seven-inch display, 16GB of storage, and an adjustable warm light for $200, or $220 without lockscreen ads.

The Paperwhite Signature Edition costs $250, adding an aluminum back, 32GB of storage, auto-adjusting light, and page-turn double-tap functionality.

The updated Kindle Colorsoft includes a seven-inch display with improved clarity and edge-to-edge color, starting at $290 for the 16GB model and $320 for the Signature Edition.

Kids versions of the new e-readers are also available with protective covers and a one-year Kids+ subscription.

Ring smart door lock and camera updates

Ring unveiled its first smart door lock, featuring a fingerprint reader, keypad, and an emergency hand crank to supply temporary power if the battery depletes. It will launch early next year for $249.

Ring also updated several cameras, including the Outdoor Cam 4K Plus, Spotlight Cam 4K Plus, Floodlight Cam 4K Plus, and Indoor Cam 4K, alongside a new Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K.
