First Teaser Trailer Released for Death Stranding Anime Series Coming to Disney+

The adaptation carries a distinctive premise summarized by its striking tagline: "My mom became a crater."

Teaser Trailer and Premise

Kojima Productions has released the first teaser trailer for the Death Stranding anime project. Titled Death Stranding Isolations, the brief clip incorporates familiar motifs from the game, including a courier carrying strapped cargo. The main focus of the footage is a young girl waking from nightmares featuring BTs, the hostile, gloopy entities from the game universe.

The narrative presents an original story set within the world of Death Stranding, taking place shortly after protagonist Sam Porter Bridges reconnects North America through the Chiral Network. The central character lives in self-imposed isolation until unexpected encounters thrust her back into an unfamiliar world.

Characters and Production

Additional characters feature a wise old man with unconventional connection methods, a female soldier trapped in a cycle of war, and an angry young boy. Hideo Kojima serves as an executive producer on the series, which is directed by Takayuki Sano.

Death Stranding Isolations is scheduled to debut on Disney+ next year.

Other multimedia projects are also in development for the franchise, including an animated film titled Death Stranding Mosquito and a live-action movie produced in partnership with A24.
