Price and Availability
The Google and Xreal Aura — the lightweight 95-gram glasses with a tethered Android XR compute puck and multiple virtual screens — have officially gone on sale. Xreal and Google announced that the headset costs $1,099 through the end of the year, down from the $1,279 that Xreal was charging for preorders last month.
Google and Xreal Aura Glasses Launch at $1,099
Through year’s end, the Google glasses will sell for $180 less than the price Xreal originally announced.
The Xreal Aura features a 70-degree diagonal field of view, offering one of the widest fields of view for transparent glasses yet.
Buyers no longer have to navigate a maze of reservations, preorders, and Founder’s Editions. You can order the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model for $1,099 in the US, Canada, and South Korea, or the 16GB and 512GB version for a discounted $1,299, with units expected to begin shipping in mid-November. It goes on sale November 2nd in Japan, with broader availability planned for next year.
For customers who preordered at the original price, Xreal confirmed that the company will automatically and instantly refund the price difference.
Features and Ecosystem
Xreal and Google stated the headset will launch with over 150 made-for-XR experiences, including immersive films like Andy Serkis’ Nevatars and Galapagos: the Last Eden. Users can plug a computer or handheld game console directly into the USB-C compute puck to mirror it to the glasses alongside virtual windows, and query Google’s Gemini AI about their surroundings.
Google Photos is also receiving an XR update, introducing a spatial gallery that wraps the user's library around them, allowing navigation from an entire year down to a single day using hand gestures.
Accessories
Xreal is partnering with GameSir to offer a wireless gamepad equipped with a dedicated Gemini key, a charging dock, and swappable D-pads. The company is also releasing a folding portable wireless keyboard, though pricing and release dates for these accessories have not yet been announced.
