Modular Home Theater Design
LG is known for its soundbars and surround sound systems as much as its OLED TVs, with Sound Suite standing out as one of its notable offerings. The premium system lets users pick and choose select speakers à la carte to fit their space, place them accordingly, and use Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology to optimize performance.
LG is now adding new features to Sound Suite based on customer feedback. The system now supports DTS:X for additional surround sound options, along with Google Cast, dual W7 subwoofers, and more flexible Wi-Fi configurations. LG also previewed a new Media Connect Hub for DTS:X devices that is currently under development.
New Audio and Streaming Features
The primary addition is DTS:X support for the H7 soundbar, which serves as the centerpiece of the Sound Suite. This feature provides home theater enthusiasts with additional ways to experience multi-dimensional audio from compatible content and source devices. Another major update is Google Cast support on the H7 soundbar, enabling direct streaming of music and podcasts to the system.
Expanded Connectivity and Network Options
Aligning with its flexible multi-speaker architecture, Sound Suite is expanding network compatibility to include support for Wi-Fi 6 GHz networks and 5 GHz DFS channels. LG notes this gives users more stereo and multi-speaker configuration options within the environment. Additionally, LG is introducing support for dual W7 subwoofer setups for enhanced low-end audio performance.
Media Connect Hub Outlook
Regarding the Media Connect Hub, LG stated it will enable DTS:X from compatible external source devices and expand access to DTS:X content. While details remain limited, the hardware could potentially connect disc players and other compatible hardware to the Sound Suite environment. The new software updates are currently rolling out regionally, though availability may vary by location.
