Design and Display
It is a quirk of the release calendar that when the Vivo X Fold 6 launched in China earlier this summer, it felt like any other foldable. Now heading to international markets, its size and aspect ratio feel uniquely traditional.
Vivo’s X Fold 6 brings a familiar design to global markets
The tall, square-ish foldable is rolling out internationally following its initial summer debut in China.
The device retains physical proportions similar to previous Vivo foldables and older generation hardware, predating recent wider-aspect shifts by competitors. It features a 6.51-inch cover display in a standard 20:9 smartphone ratio that unfolds into an almost square 8.02-inch main panel. The screen crease remains relatively visible compared to some newer rivals, and the device carries an IP59 protection rating.
Cameras and Performance
The X Fold 6 distinguishes itself primarily through its photographic capabilities. It includes a large 1/1.4-inch-type, 200-megapixel main camera sensor, accompanied by 50-megapixel telephoto and ultrawide lenses. Powering the device is a custom MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor paired with a 6,900mAh battery.
Availability
The international rollout is underway, though specific pricing and regional availability details were not initially disclosed.
The phone is launching now outside China, though Vivo didn’t tell me the price or specific markets ahead of time; I’ll update this article once I have them. I’ve got a few phones on my desk right now (literally — it’s a mess) but I’m hoping to give this camera a proper test when I can, since it should be better than almost any other foldable’s.
