New Content Arrives for 007 First Light
IO Interactive has delivered on its promise of future content for 007 First Light's TacSim mode, which launched earlier this year.
The free Extended Operations DLC is now available, introducing five new missions to the TacSim mode. Players will also find a New Game Plus mode, additional outfits, and a photo mode, which was notably absent at the game's initial release.
Valhalla Missions and New Game Plus
Four of the new operations center around the Valhalla supercar, a vehicle briefly featured in the campaign. These missions appear to be timed driving challenges, requiring players to utilize the car's weapons and gadgets. Currently, the Valhalla cannot be used in other missions that feature less exciting vehicles.
The New Game Plus mode offers a fresh playthrough experience, complemented by a recent path tracing update. This mode also introduces a new '00' difficulty, designed to be significantly more challenging than the original game's 'Purist' setting. Expect faster enemy reactions, tougher NPC variants, and unforgiving combat with two-hit kills and a tighter parry window.
Gameplay Enhancements
Beyond new content, IO Interactive has implemented improvements to weapon animations. Enemies now possess the ability to throw players off cliffs, mirroring a mechanic previously exclusive to the player in the base game.
This marks the first content-based DLC for 007 First Light. The base game was highly acclaimed, earning a 9/10 score and praised for its immersive portrayal of the Bond fantasy.
Future Outlook
While some players may have hoped for a story expansion, the free Extended Operations DLC provides substantial new gameplay. The community anticipates further official James Bond adventures and a potential release on the upcoming Switch 2.
