Character Creator Goes Viral

Aion 2, a free-to-play MMO action RPG, is going viral for its character creation settings — more specifically, for how busty you can make your female character.

Some players sink hours into character creators before they start an RPG. They are almost a game all on their own, and players have been known to spend inordinate amounts of time creating all manner of monstrosities using the various sliders available to them.

However, Aion 2 is providing customization of a different type, and it has sparked quite a debate within the broader gaming community.

Community Debate

Many players have seen gameplay footage of someone using Aion 2's character creator and abusing the bust size slider to increase the size of their character's bosom.

This viral clip has stirred up a conversation around the types of bodies we see in video games. Some players have noticed that there does not seem to be an option to decrease your character's breast size from the default setting, leading to claims of small chest erasure and the game developers catering only to a specific type of preference.

One user wrote in a viral quote-tweet on social media expressing frustration that the minimum size option appears noticeably large.

https://t.co/1uIaqM3qAK

Others expressed irritation that design choices like this imply only certain body types are desirable.

Even Japanese players noticed the disparity, with one writing that the minimum setting is still too large.

Another user questioned why the minimum threshold was set so high.

Release and Reception

However, the broader reaction to this particular viral clip has been humor, with both English-speaking and Japanese players finding the bust customization feature amusing and joking about how long it will take to actually start playing the game.

Whatever the case may be, it has brought considerable attention to Aion 2. Released on October 5 from South Korean developers NC, the game is set in a conflict between two warring nations and has received mixed reviews on Steam during its early launch phase.
