Paranormal Activity Game Returns
The canceled game Paranormal Activity: Threshold has returned as a playable archive, released for free on Steam.
The narrative follows a young couple renovating their home who uncover a strange object, triggering terrifying supernatural events. The story unfolds through a found-footage style featuring rituals, mysterious symbols, and tense encounters with an unseen entity.
Development and Rescue
Paramount canceled the original project earlier this year, but developer Brian Clarke—known for The Mortuary Assistant—partnered with publisher DreadXP to salvage and release the work.
Clarke noted that he initially believed the project would remain unreleased. Following outreach from DreadXP, he polished the existing build to give the material a proper public release, though a significant portion of planned work was ultimately left unfinished.
Gameplay Details
According to the Steam listing, the experience lacks a save system and must be completed in a single continuous session.
Horror enthusiasts awaiting more content from the franchise can also anticipate a new Paranormal Activity film produced by James Wan slated for release next year.
