PlayStation 5 Launch Details
According to a report from insider billbil-kun on Dealabs, Forza Horizon 6 will arrive on PlayStation 5 early next year, following earlier industry speculation.
Playground's racing title originally launched on Xbox Series X and S and PC in May 2026. The PlayStation 5 version is now expected to launch on January 26, 2027.
Industry reports previously suggested the game would not hit Sony's console this year, though the developer initially insisted otherwise. Playground has not issued a new statement regarding the latest report.
Microsoft Multiplatform Strategy
Following changes in Xbox leadership, Microsoft's strategy has maintained select platform exclusives, such as Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution.
However, Forza Horizon 6 avoids this restriction, which aligns with the strong commercial performance of its predecessor on Sony's hardware.
Critical reception for the racing title praised its visual fidelity, audio design, and open-world map layout.
Physical Release and Pricing
The report also indicates that a physical disc edition will launch simultaneously with the digital version on PlayStation 5.
Pricing for the PlayStation 5 version is expected to match the standard $69.99 cost seen on Xbox platforms.
Meanwhile, a secondary team at Playground continues development on the upcoming Fable reboot, scheduled for release across Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5 in February 2027.
