God of War Laufey Delayed Until May

Santa Monica Studio’s next God of War game is now set for a May 20th release.

Here is Santa Monica Studio’s full message about the delay:

Studio Statement and Gameplay Details

The studio shared a statement expressing gratitude for fan excitement following the game's reveal in June and noting that the extra time will allow the team to finalize the project. Laufey centers on Faye, Kratos's wife, with Deborah Ann Woll reprising her role. Gameplay footage indicates a greater emphasis on acrobatic action compared to previous entries in the franchise.

Laufey stars Faye, the wife of usual God of War protagonist Kratos, and she is played again by Deborah Ann Woll. Based on a 23-minute gameplay reveal earlier this year, Laufey looks to play differently than the other recent God of War games, with more of a focus on acrobatic action.
