Fans of GTA 6 are already copying items from the game’s $400 collector’s edition and 3D-printing them for a far cheaper price.
On September 24, Rockstar revealed a special, $400 collector’s edition for GTA 6, which does not actually come with the game. Despite paying nearly half a rack, players will not get the game itself; instead, it comes with a bundle of GTA 6-branded merchandise.
The bundle includes items like a cartoon alligator figure, stickers, pins, a hat, and a pair of Oakley sunglasses, which is likely where much of the cost originates. While fans cannot easily replicate all of the items, they are actively 3D printing copies of at least one trinket in the collection.

One of the most viral examples of this is a recreation of the game’s Macca the Alligator mascot, which has been fully modeled and uploaded as a printable file online. Rather than paying $400, fans can support the creator by paying what they want.
Reactions to this workaround have been deeply divided. Some fans praise the copycat creators for finding a creative solution to a pricey problem, while others argue that making a 3D copy undermines the purpose of purchasing a rare item.
