Development Update

Renowned game director Hideo Kojima revived his Koji10 podcast after a year and shared casting, story, and development updates on Physint, his upcoming next-generation action-espionage game and spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid.

Thanks to a summary of the 79-minute English-subtitled podcast on YouTube, new details have emerged about the status of Physint. Kojima describes Physint as a project to commemorate his 40th anniversary as a game developer. He wants it to evoke the roots of the Metal Gear Solid games while offering a new interactive experience with a different kind of spy action.

Casting and Story

Regarding the story and cast, Kojima stated that the plot is already finished and that he personally pitched all of the participating actors. Filming is scheduled to start next year, with Bill Skarsgard, Charlie Fraser, and Minami Hamabe already scanned for the title.

Kojima noted that he approaches every game he creates as if it could potentially be his final project.

Release Timeline

The other game Kojima is currently developing, the OD spiritual successor, is expected to launch prior to Physint.
