Modding Platform Impact
Full Circle, the developer of Skate, published a statement addressing community mods following the viral launch of a fan-made modding platform called ReSkate.
ReSkate was officially released into the wild about a week ago. This platform allows fans to play the game offline, create private servers, make their own maps, and more. It has already been downloaded over 350,000 times on GitHub.
Full Circle published a statement acknowledging fan mods, admitting to the importance of community mods while standing firm against those that bypass paid cosmetics or make money off of new features.
Developer Stance
Skateboarding in general is built on community and creative expression, and the studio supports that. The developers stated that they built their new skateboarding sandbox in San Vansterdam to give players the tools they need to have fun and create content.
The studio drew the line when mods or other tools bypass systems to unlock paid cosmetics, release gated or unreleased content, or profit from unauthorized assets, noting that such actions negatively impact artists, skate brands, and the development team.
Official Tools on the Way
Full Circle confirmed that it is aware players want more freedom and custom features, revealing that it is currently building official, secure access tools to enable broader and deeper community creation.

Player Surge
ReSkate’s popularity resulted in a massive jump in active players for Skate, peaking at over 7,000 players on October 5, marking the highest player count in months since the game's launch in September 2025.
The creators of ReSkate admitted that they did not realize how large the platform would become and stated they were doing it for the love of the game.
The modding creators indicated they are prepared to take ReSkate down if necessary. For now, the platform remains active, having spurred Full Circle into action regarding community features.
