Game Announcement
The Conjuring is coming to Netflix in the form of a video game, marking the franchise’s first foray into the medium after releasing ten films over the last decade.
Titled The Conjuring: Unspoken, the game is slated to launch on the streamer this October. This news was announced in the platform’s monthly newsletter, which shared a small blurb about what players can expect from this latest entry in Ed and Lorraine Warren’s ghostly adventures.
“What is haunting the Red Lion Inn? Scan for paranormal signals and investigate the eerie events troubling a grieving family in this cinematic game,” the blurb reads.
Gameplay Details
Thus far, details about the game remain limited. It is currently unclear if it will mimic Netflix’s previous interactive horror title featuring a celebrity cast, or adopt a completely different format.
It remains unconfirmed whether Ed or Lorraine will appear in the game directly, though the description implies the pair will undertake another paranormal investigation.
The title will be a cloud-based game, meaning it is not tied exclusively to mobile devices or any single platform. It is also described as cinematic, indicating a heavy narrative focus with cutscenes.
Release Window
This marks The Conjuring’s first fully dedicated video game adaptation, arriving in time for the autumn release window. While an exact launch date has not yet been specified, it arrives following other major horror releases in the space.
The franchise has previously appeared in other games, including a themed map in Fortnite based on The Conjuring: Last Rites in 2025.
Last Rites is the newest film in the horror series that began in 2013, serving as the final story in the initial phase of its overarching narrative, with another film slated for 2027.
Netflix Cloud Gaming Strategy
Cloud-based gaming is an expanding focus for Netflix. Co-CEO Greg Peters noted in an investor call that the company continues to calibrate and refine its level of investment in the space based on member performance and business returns.
The project represents the continued expansion of Netflix's gaming catalog into cloud streaming formats.
