New Unlimited+ Plan Details
Felix Mobile has introduced a new Unlimited+ plan that doubles the download speeds of its previous unlimited data offering. While the original plan was capped at 40Mbps, the new tier provides speeds up to 80Mbps.
The Unlimited+ plan is priced at AU$50 per month. This 80Mbps speed cap is significantly faster than the previous 40Mbps limit and approaches the 100Mbps caps often found on plans with strict data limits.
Value and Performance
Although the new plan costs AU$10 more per month than the standard AU$40 option, it offers a 25% increase in cost for a 100% increase in potential download speed. This makes it a more viable choice for high-bandwidth activities like video streaming, large file downloads, and mobile hotspot usage.
The Unlimited+ plan includes unlimited standard national calls and texts, along with access to Vodafone's 4G and 5G network. It remains a no-lock-in contract service, and the data remains truly unlimited without speed throttling after a specific usage threshold.
Market Positioning
For heavy data users, the Unlimited+ plan provides a competitive balance between cost and performance. It serves as a middle ground for those who require faster connectivity but want to avoid the higher prices associated with premium carrier plans.
The original AU$40 Unlimited plan remains available for users prioritizing the lowest possible monthly cost. However, the Unlimited+ tier is positioned as the more balanced option for users seeking a smoother browsing and streaming experience.
The introduction of the 80Mbps tier addresses previous user feedback regarding the limitations of the original 40Mbps speed cap.
