Overview
Anthropic has announced an AI agent named Claude Duet, positioned for professionals and small business owners. The agent is launching as a research preview and is available as a standalone application on iOS and Android, as well as through Claude on the web.
Capabilities and Features
Claude Duet is Anthropic’s new agent tailored for professionals and small business owners, currently debuting as a research preview.
The AI agent operates using Claude Opus 5.5. Anthropic highlights several core capabilities for the system:
Each morning, it provides a briefing summarizing critical items across connected applications. Throughout the day, it monitors those apps and alerts users only when intervention is required. Users can assign various duties, ranging from administrative tasks like scheduling meetings to complex workflows such as building dashboards, generating financial or sales forecasts, and prototyping web applications.
Safety and Limitations
Claude Duet incorporates memory, skills, and connected app integrations from Claude, alongside a virtual machine equipped with a browser to execute tasks. Prior to significant actions like sending payments or deleting data, the agent requests user approval. To protect sensitive information, it features a dedicated classifier and safety system prompt configured to reject requests involving strict data tiers such as credit card numbers.
Anthropic notes that Claude Duet remains an early version that may occasionally misread threads or misjudge urgency. It is also less optimized for personal errands such as booking tickets.
