Series C Funding

Blacksmith, a platform that helps companies efficiently build and test software, including code generated by artificial intelligence, announced a $66 million Series C funding round led by Sequoia Capital that values the enterprise at $1 billion.

Co-founder and CEO Aditya Jayaprakash stated that the platform was established to streamline continuous integration, encompassing the building, testing, merging, and validation of code modifications. He noted that organizations face difficulties managing the increasing volume of required continuous integration operations, particularly amid widespread AI code generation.

As automated agents author a greater share of global software, verifying the reliability of that code becomes a central concern.

Growth and Scale

The company reported a seventeenfold increase in annual recurring revenue alongside the execution of over 90 million automated continuous integration checks. Current enterprise customers include Mercury and Granola.

This latest financing follows a $45 million Series B round two months prior that valued the enterprise at $550 million. One year previously, the firm secured a $10 million Series A achieving a $60 million valuation, bringing its total capital raised to $125 million.
