New Autofill Capabilities
Building on previous enhancements that integrated personal details from Google Accounts and Wallet, Chrome's autofill functionality is now expanding. This update introduces the use of Gemini with Personal Intelligence to extract relevant information from a user's Gmail, aiming to simplify form filling by automatically suggesting data such as confirmation details, receipts, or shipping updates.
Chrome's Enhanced Autofill Now Integrates Gmail Information
Leveraging Gemini with Personal Intelligence, the system can identify and suggest specific data points like order numbers, package tracking details, and various travel booking information.
Privacy and Control
The expanded capabilities enable retrieval of diverse details, including shipment tracking numbers, flight or hotel reservation specifics, and recent purchase order identifiers. Google emphasizes that sensitive data offered as suggestions during form completion remains encrypted. Users retain full control over the information enhanced autofill can access via Chrome's settings, with the option to disable the feature entirely.
This integration allows Chrome to proactively suggest pertinent details sourced from your Gmail, thereby eliminating the need to navigate between multiple browser tabs to locate necessary information for forms.
Availability
The rollout of these enhanced autofill improvements is commencing today in the United States. Availability extends to users who have enabled Personal Intelligence within Gemini in Chrome, across desktop, Android, and iOS versions of the browser.
