College Planning Features
OpenAI is adding new features to ChatGPT for Teens, a specialized mode launched with built-in safeguards and break reminders, to assist students with navigating the college application process.

According to OpenAI, the College Planner consolidates requirements, deadlines, and financial aid steps for multiple schools. Students can update their progress, track timelines, and ask questions regarding specific application requirements or starting points directly within the chat interface.
The release is scheduled to arrive soon, initially targeting US students in grades 10 through 12 who are preparing applications for four-year undergraduate institutions.
Study and Productivity Updates
Alongside application assistance, OpenAI is rolling out study-focused updates. iOS users can now capture and upload multiple photos simultaneously to compile them into a single PDF. Additionally, the platform can generate study flashcards directly from uploaded user notes.
Safety Context
These updates follow recent safety discussions regarding AI tools in educational settings. OpenAI reports that, on average, teenage users spend less than 15 minutes per day interacting with ChatGPT.
