Series C Funding

SiMa.ai, a startup developing specialized chips and software that allow robots, drones, cameras, and other edge devices to run artificial intelligence locally, has secured a $150 million Series C funding round at a $1.45 billion valuation. The investment round was co-led by Fidelity Management & Research Company and Amplify, with additional participation from Alter Venture Partners, Dell Technologies Capital, and StepStone Group.

Energy-Efficient Processing

Established in 2018 by Chief Executive Officer Krishna Rangasayee, the enterprise supplies energy-efficient processors designed to reduce reliance on cloud data centers. The firm aims to leverage its low-latency execution and competitive pricing relative to Nvidia graphics processing units to secure market share within the burgeoning physical artificial intelligence sector, including humanoid robotics.

Capital Growth

This latest financing elevates SiMa.ai's aggregate capital raised beyond $500 million. The company previously achieved a valuation of $960 million following an $85 million Series B financing round.
