SteelSeries Apex 3 Deal
The SteelSeries Apex 3 full-sized gaming keyboard is currently available at a 40% discount off its original $49.99 list price, dropping it to just $29.99. While it utilizes membrane switches rather than mechanical ones, it offers a budget-friendly option for users seeking a full-sized layout from a recognized peripheral manufacturer.
Design and Durability
The SteelSeries Apex 3 features an IP32 certification for water and dust resistance, providing protection against accidental spills. As a full-sized keyboard, it includes a dedicated number pad, a full row of function keys, and integrated multimedia controls.
Its membrane switches operate more quietly than typical mechanical alternatives while maintaining a rating of up to 20 million keypresses. The design also incorporates a magnetically attached wrist rest that can be removed and reattached as needed.
Lighting and Customization
Instead of individual per-key lighting, this version of the Apex 3 utilizes a 10-zone RGB LED configuration. Users can program these zones with custom colors and effects, save them to profiles, and adjust the overall backlight brightness.
The keyboard supports saving custom macro combinations to specific profiles, featuring a dedicated key for on-the-fly switching. Additionally, it includes a roller and button combination for hardware-level volume control and media playback functions.
At $29.99, the Apex 3 serves as an affordable option for a backup peripheral or for setups where fluid resistance is a priority and mechanical switches are not strictly required.
