Anbernic RG DDS Dual-Screen Handheld Targeted at 3DS Gaming

The RG DDS main display has a 5:3 aspect ratio while its bottom screen features a 4:3 layout.

Design and Display

Following its previous dual-screen releases, Anbernic is introducing the RG DDS, named the Dream Dual-Screen as a nod to Nintendo's portable consoles.

Performance and Hardware

The device runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 processor, positioning it to emulate platforms up to the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Switch generations. It features a 4.7-inch primary display with a 1,200 x 720 resolution and a 5:3 aspect ratio, alongside a secondary 4-inch screen with a 960 x 720 resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio. Powering the handheld is a 6,000mAh battery.

Controls and Features

The physical layout mirrors standard clamshell designs with the addition of a second analog stick on the right side and an integrated capacitive stylus. The device also includes a dedicated hardware button intended for AI functions, though specific capabilities remain unannounced.

Pricing and Availability

Pricing details and a formal release date have not been disclosed, though industry expectations place it above the $99 price point of earlier models while remaining competitive against alternatives like the Retroid Pocket Duo series.
