Everything Apple announced this week so far: New iPad and MacBooks
Ahead of its latest showcase event, the company has already launched a few new devices.
Apple expanded its product reveals for the fall after previously unveiling new phone models and smart home hardware, showing off additional gear ahead of schedule.
The company began its announcements with the reveal of the long-awaited OLED iPad mini, followed by an M6-powered iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro.
Elsewhere, Apple released updated versions of its operating systems, adding enhanced assistant features and expanded language support.
Here is a breakdown of everything Apple has announced during the hardware rollout.

OLED iPad mini
Apple has integrated an OLED display into the iPad mini. The new screen features a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Base storage remains at 128GB, with 256GB and 512GB variants offering an optional nano-texture glass display upgrade.
The tablet features a slightly larger 8.5-inch screen within a more compact and lighter enclosure compared to the previous generation. The cellular variant includes Apple's C2 modem for faster data speeds, alongside Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread connectivity via the N1 chip.
The eighth-generation iPad mini runs on the A20 Pro chipset, capable of running large language models locally and supporting system assistant features with a 7-core GPU.
The front-facing 12MP Center Stage camera has been shifted to the landscape edge. The rear 12MP camera supports 4K video capture at 60fps and Smart HDR 4.
The new iPad mini features an IP67 dust and water resistance rating, allowing it to withstand immersion in up to a meter of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.
Battery life reaches up to 10 hours of video playback or web surfing over Wi-Fi, dropping to nine hours over cellular. Using a 35W power adapter allows the device to charge to 50 percent capacity in 30 minutes.
The model introduces Apple's first Acoustic Display, utilizing woofers paired through the display and hidden tweeters to deliver increased volume and enhanced audio clarity.
The iPad mini starts at $699. Pre-orders open on October 28, with retail availability beginning November 6.

M6 iMac
Apple updated the iMac and MacBook Pro with the M6 chipset, which recently debuted in the Mac mini.
The M6 features a dual 16-core neural engine designed to deliver faster on-device processing for assistant features and local large language models, alongside general performance improvements over previous M4 configurations.
The base-level M6 includes 10 CPU cores and a 10-core GPU, with a 12-core M6 configuration available that adds four Thunderbolt 4 ports and a nano-texture glass option.
Apple integrated the N1 networking chip into the iMac, providing Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread connectivity, alongside an optional 2.5Gb Ethernet port upgrade.
Other specifications remain consistent, including a 24-inch 4.5K Super Retina display, a 12MP Center Stage camera, a six-speaker audio system, at least 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of base storage across multiple color options.
The new iMac starts at $1,499, while the four-port version starts at $1,699. Pre-orders open October 28 with store availability on November 6.
M6 14-inch MacBook Pro
The latest 14-inch MacBook Pro features the 12-core version of the M6 chipset and the N1 networking chip for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support.
Compared to the previous generation with the M5 processor, the M6 model offers improved graphics performance and faster processing for graphic rendering and code compilation.
The update serves as an incremental upgrade primarily targeted at users transitioning from older MacBook Pro models.
Alongside hardware updates, creative software received new features, including layout updates for Final Cut Pro and integrated third-party effect elements.
Logic Pro added a beta assistant feature for supported systems, alongside an enhanced Stem Splitter, while productivity apps like Keynote, Pages, and Numbers received built-in chat tools.
The M6-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,999 with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Pre-orders begin Wednesday with general availability starting November 6.
