Apple HomeView Overview

Apple is entering the smart display market with the introduction of the HomeView. The device features a 7-inch squircle design resembling a large Apple Watch mounted on a speaker base. Priced at $299, the HomeView serves as a central hub for smart home control, while also supporting recipes, music playback controls, FaceTime calls, and various widgets.

Pricing and Release

The HomeView launches on Friday, November 13th, and is available for preorder in multiple colors. Buyers can choose at checkout between a model with a speaker base—incorporating a custom down-firing woofer and two passive radiators—or a wall-mounted variant that excludes the base. Both options cost the same, though separate purchases are required for actual wall mounting hardware.

AI and Connectivity

The HomeView integrates deeply with Siri AI alongside other announcements. When linked to an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, the display supports advanced natural-language voice commands. Equipped with Thread and Matter connectivity, it manages smart home ecosystems while utilizing AI capabilities to retrieve information from messages and emails.

Accessories required for the wall-mounted HomeView configuration increase the overall cost compared to the speaker base model.
