Overview
Baseus has announced a new addition to its lineup of AI-assisted security cameras that is designed to be proactive about discouraging unwanted visitors rather than merely recording alerts. The Baseus Security PrimeSentinel U2 Pro Outdoor 3K Dual Camera introduces a motorized spotlight that shines directly on a moving target, even as they move across a property, signaling that they have been detected. The targeted light also enhances the quality of video captured in the dark to improve identification chances.
Baseus PrimeSentinel U2 Pro Features and Pricing
The camera aims to deter intruders by actively tracking them with a focused bright beam that simultaneously improves nighttime video clarity.
The bright spotlight provides focused illumination to capture cleaner nighttime footage while acting as a deterrent.
Camera Hardware and Availability
The Baseus U2 Pro is available for $269.99 in the US, with European availability starting at €269.99. Alongside the spotlight feature, the U2 Pro pairs a 3K fixed camera designed to monitor a specific area constantly with a second 3K camera that can pan, tilt, and zoom 360 degrees. Full-color night vision capabilities assist in identifying people, animals, and vehicles.
An included solar panel can be mounted directly on top of the camera or installed nearby to maintain adequate sun exposure.
Smart AI Analysis and Storage
Utilizing AI-powered analysis, the U2 Pro provides motion alerts complete with summaries that differentiate between people, pets, vehicles, and package deliveries. It filters out irrelevant motion such as blowing tree branches to reduce notification fatigue. Footage is recorded upon motion detection and stored locally on a 512GB encrypted memory card. Users can access footage remotely via a mobile application or monitor live feeds using Amazon Alexa and Google Home smart devices.
Installation and Battery Life
Baseus states that the U2 Pro can be installed in approximately two minutes using wall or ceiling mounts. The wireless camera includes a rechargeable battery rated for up to 150 days of use, depending on property activity levels. An included 3W solar panel generates enough power for a full day of operation with just 40 minutes of direct sunlight.
