Deezer will let listeners completely filter out AI music
It will be available by the end of the year.
Streaming platform Deezer is introducing a toggle to filter out AI-generated tracks. This simple on-off switch will be available on the app by the end of the year.
User Demand
According to CEO Alexis Lanternier, there is clear user demand for the ability to filter out AI-generated music. The option aims to remove this content entirely from the streaming experience and focus only on human creators.

Deezer conducted a study suggesting nearly half of all music streaming users would like to see AI-generated music removed from their feeds. Research indicates that listeners grow increasingly fatigued as platforms become flooded with automated tracks.
Platform Saturation
Deezer reported that around 18 percent of tracks uploaded to the app were AI-generated last year, a figure that has since risen past 50 percent. The company states that 90,000 fully generated tracks are uploaded daily, totaling over 42 million songs.
Creators of automated tracks often use a high-volume approach in hopes of generating payouts, while fraud remains a concern. The platform previously reported that up to 85 percent of streams generated by AI tracks were fraudulent.
Detection Technology
Deezer previously launched an AI music detection tool, making the new toggle a natural next step. While the detection system is not completely foolproof, the company claims the risk of a false positive is very low.
Other streaming platforms have adopted different approaches to AI content. YouTube Music launched a label for AI-generated tracks, and Spotify applies similar indicators on AI artist pages.
