Overview
The EV manufacturer currently has no plans to introduce the Ioniq 3 to the US market.
Pricing and Availability
Hyundai has officially brought the Ioniq 3 and its competitive price point to the UK. First unveiled in April, the all-electric compact hatchback is available for order with a starting price of £18,495, approximately $25,000. This entry-level cost incorporates a £3,750 Electric Car Grant applicable to every Ioniq 3 variant.
Specifications and Range
According to Hyundai Motor UK, the vehicle generated more pre-launch customer interest than any previous model introduced in the country. The base Advance trim features a 42 kWh battery delivering a 213-mile range. Buyers can also opt for higher configurations, culminating in the top-tier N-Line Evo priced at £31,945, or roughly $42,000, which includes a 61 kWh battery and offers up to 308 miles of range. Built on a 400V architecture, the hatchback can recharge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 29 minutes, depending on the battery size.
Technology and Features
The Ioniq 3 marks Hyundai's debut vehicle in Europe to incorporate the Pleos Connect Infotainment system. Powered by Android Automotive OS, the software provides an updated user interface. Depending on the selected trim, drivers receive either a 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch infotainment display, alongside available amenities such as heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and driver-assistance technologies like Highway Driving Assist 2 and Blind View Monitor.
Market Availability
Designed specifically for everyday European driving requirements, the hatchback will not see a US release. Additionally, because the vehicle is manufactured in Turkey, importing it to the US would subject it to tariffs that would eliminate its primary advantage of affordability. US consumers looking for alternatives can instead consider Hyundai's larger Ioniq 5 or the Kia EV3, which starts near $31,000.
