Pricing and Availability
During Amazon’s October sale event, the 128GB Meta Quest 3S is available for $297.49, down from its usual price of $349.99 at major retailers including Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy. While its lenses and displays are not quite as sharp as the standard Quest 3, it shares the same underlying chipset, making it a more economical option for casual virtual reality gaming and media consumption. Buyers also receive a three-month subscription to Horizon Plus, granting access to an extensive game library.
Meta Quest 3S Features and Capabilities
The Meta Quest 3S is a battery-powered, standalone virtual reality headset equipped with the same processor as the higher-end Quest 3 while retaining the screen resolution and lenses of the Quest 2. Alongside standalone titles available through the Meta Store, the headset can connect to a gaming PC to run demanding VR software.
The headset utilizes inside-out tracking to enable standalone functionality across various environments without requiring external base stations.
As an upgrade over previous entry-level hardware, the Quest 3S bridges the gap between cost and performance for users entering the virtual reality ecosystem.
Bonus Content
Purchases of the headset through Amazon also bundle the "Cardboard Monkenaut" cosmetic set for Gorilla Tag VR, alongside 2,000 "Shiny Rocks" to spend on in-game items. The multiplayer title is free to play on Quest hardware.
