YouTube Music adds new labels for AI-generated content
YouTube Music has started deploying clear labels to denote whether a track has been generated by artificial intelligence.
YouTube Music has implemented clear labels that denote whether a track has been generated by AI. This addition helps listeners identify artificial compositions.
How the Labels Work
An oblong label reading "AI" sits directly below the track name. The label is visible on songs that were fully generated by AI, as well as tracks that used a model to create major components like vocals. YouTube states the label accompanies any content where artificial intelligence played a significant role.

Tapping the label opens a menu providing information on how AI was used, helping inform users. This solution is similar to how YouTube labels AI-generated video content on the main platform.
The company notes that these specific labels are also coming to the main video player for music videos and related content at a later date.
YouTube Music joins other platforms addressing automated audio. Spotify has begun labeling certain artificial tracks, while Deezer implements filtering systems to address synthetic uploads.
