Xbox Delistings
Acclaimed indie titles Celeste and TowerFall have been removed from the Xbox marketplace following a decision by the developer to boycott Microsoft.
Developer Maddy Thorson confirmed the removal on social media, explaining that the choice was made in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Wider Industry Boycotts
The BDS movement targets companies involved with or invested in the Israeli government. Other independent developers have taken similar stances, such as the team behind the upcoming co-op game Big Walk opting out of an Xbox release earlier this year.
House House, the studio behind Big Walk, previously stated that it chose to bypass Xbox to align with the priority boycott targets outlined by the BDS movement.
Availability on Other Platforms
While no longer available on Xbox platforms, both Celeste and TowerFall remain available for purchase on PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
