Upcoming Live Performances
Composer Mick Gordon has provided an update on the scheduled live performances of his Doom and Doom Eternal soundtracks, confirming that his upcoming headliner appearance at the UK’s RADAR festival is only the beginning of a broader plan.
Gordon stated that the announced festival dates include a headline show at the RADAR festival on August 1, 2027, featuring a band and live orchestra playing music from Doom, Doom Eternal, and other projects. A few days later, he will perform at the Brutal Assault Festival in the Czech Republic.
Potential Worldwide Expansion
Fans unable to travel to the UK or Europe may have opportunities to experience the heavy metal performances closer to home in the future.
Following the announcement of the RADAR show, Gordon received numerous offers from the European metal festival circuit. He and his agency are currently discussing plans to bring the production to various events worldwide over a two-year period.
A Unique Live Metal Experience
Gordon expressed enthusiasm for performing popular tracks like Rip & Tear, BFG Division, and At Doom’s Gate live, aiming to deliver an experience that differs significantly from traditional video game orchestra concerts.
He noted a desire to combine the energy of video game music with live rock and metal shows, specifically intending to foster an environment featuring large circle mosh pits set to game soundtracks rather than a seated, formal orchestral recital.
Gordon believes circumstances have uniquely positioned him to deliver this specific style of heavy metal live performance.
Recent Work
In the meantime, fans can hear more of Gordon's work on the soundtrack for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, releasing for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version scheduled for a later release.
