Compact Design

Microsoft announced the release of the Xbox Nano controller, its smallest console gamepad yet. It measures just over 5 inches long, weighs 3.5 ounces and is lighter and shorter than most modern smartphones.

For comparison, an iPhone 18 Pro is 5.9 inches long and weighs 7.4 ounces. A current standard Xbox One wireless controller is just over 6 inches long and weighs 9.9 ounces without batteries.

Features and Layout

Microsoft states that the Nano controller includes all 18 standard gameplay inputs, matching the layout of the standard version. A programmable Action Button can also be customized to support features such as capturing gameplay and taking screenshots.

The Xbox Nano controller comes equipped with a rechargeable battery and connects to compatible devices via both Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth.

Connectivity and Travel

The Xbox Nano supports official Xbox Wireless without needing an additional wireless adapter, alongside Bluetooth connectivity. This makes it a portable option for travel and gaming on phones or tablets.

Pricing and Availability

The Xbox Nano controller is priced at $50, and US gamers can preorder on the Xbox site. It will launch in other markets including Australia, Canada, and the UK in November, with pricing varying by country.

Holiday Bundles

The Xbox Nano controller and two months of Microsoft Game Pass Ultimate will be bundled with select Samsung TVs this holiday season via the built-in Gaming Hub. Another holiday promotion will include the Nano controller and two free months of Game Pass Ultimate with the purchase of a Meta Quest headset.
