Performance and Interface Improvements

Microsoft has updated the Xbox PC app to improve speed and simplify the user experience.

The Xbox PC app now launches up to 60% faster, according to Jason Beaumont, VP of Xbox Experiences. The update is currently rolling out to Xbox Insiders before a wider public release.

Internal testing by Microsoft indicates that pages such as Home, Store, and Game Pass load up to 50% faster, while in-app windows open up to 65% faster. Actual performance may vary based on user hardware and network conditions.

Enhanced Navigation and Features

The update introduces a more streamlined layout for browsing on larger displays, consolidated cloud gaming access, and the addition of light and dark mode options.

Microsoft is also extending this refreshed design to Xbox cloud gaming applications on supported televisions and VR headsets.

These changes reflect a broader effort to make the Xbox ecosystem more responsive and familiar across various platforms.

Library and Social Enhancements

The updated app includes an improved library view with simplified navigation, updated filters, and new organizational tools to help users manage their game collections.

Search functionality has been enhanced to cover installed titles and add-ons. Additionally, social features and friends lists have been integrated into the main navigation, while game cards and UI animations have been refreshed for better readability.

As Microsoft continues to prioritize its PC gaming strategy, these updates aim to strengthen the competitiveness of the Xbox PC app.
