Server Issues Plague Early Access
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's new extraction mode, DMZ, is experiencing server issues, causing players to lose newly earned loot.
Infinity Ward put its new extraction mode into early access ahead of the full release. While reception has been positive, server crashes are causing players to lose items they picked up during matches.
Developer Response and Fix
Loot previously extracted to the FOB and brought into the DMZ remains safe, but items collected during a dropped run are lost. Infinity Ward has implemented a fix and outlined what items players will keep.
Players disconnected by this specific issue retain their starting equipment and subsequent progression, though unextracted match loot is not saved.
📢 Call of Duty: #ModernWarfare4 | #DMZ Early AccessWe’re aware of an issue causing some players to disconnect from matches. We’ve deployed a potential fix and are monitoring the results.Players who disconnected due to this particular issue will retain the equipment they started the match with and their subsequent progression, but not the loot collected during the match.
Ongoing Player Concerns
Some users continue to report stability problems. Fully safeguarding all acquired items during a crash remains challenging, as blanket protections could potentially be exploited to bypass actual extraction zones.
Similar launch issues affected Black Ops 7's Endgame mode, where technical crashes wiped progress and frustrated early players before being resolved.
