Mobile Release
Hello Games announced that its long-running sci-fi exploration game, No Man’s Sky, will be coming to iOS, with versions for both the iPhone and iPad available starting on October 28th.
A Full Experience on iOS
A decade after its initial debut, the space exploration title continues to expand to new hardware platforms.
Features and Limitations
According to Sean Murray of Hello Games, the mobile port is the complete game rather than a scaled-down version. It incorporates all major updates released since launch, though multiplayer and planetary settlements are excluded. Murray compared the initial iOS release to the game's debut on the original Nintendo Switch, noting that support will scale based on player feedback.
Hardware Requirements
The game requires an iPhone 11, third-generation iPad Air, or newer hardware, and features a 5GB download size. It includes custom touch controls alongside full support for physical controllers, screen casting, and mouse-and-keyboard input on iPad. Developers focused heavily on battery optimization and thermal management to support extended play sessions. The release will be free to try, though full pricing details remain unconfirmed.
iOS joins an extensive list of supported platforms that includes Mac, PC, virtual reality headsets, and modern home consoles. The studio continues to support the title with frequent free expansions.
