Season 2 Launch Issues
Wardogs developer Bulkhead addressed the rough launch of Season 2, acknowledging severe missteps following recent updates.
Season 2 introduced XP and cash bonuses intended for players willing to join Blue Team, aiming to address previous team imbalance concerns.
However, the feature backfired as experienced players rapidly boosted their accounts. The bonuses allowed users to unlock top-tier armor and high-powered weaponry much faster than intended.
"We were wrong, we f***ed up," Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer stated, explaining that the addition was an experiment meant to last about a week. The bonuses have since been removed via a hotfix.
Balance Adjustments
The 5% extra cash and 2.5% extra XP caused Blue Team to shift from underperforming to dominating matches by drawing in competitive players.
Addressing community feedback about core issues, Brammer noted that the team had indeed rebalanced spawn setups for Bakurani following extensive testing.
Brammer added that the studio should have maintained its original course regarding the spawn adjustments, acknowledging the failed experiment.
Early Access and Console Plans
Because Wardogs remains in Early Access, balancing challenges are common as developers iterate toward the eventual 1.0 release following strong sales figures.
The studio is also working on console optimization, previously noting that certain features were scaled back to ensure proper performance on the Xbox Series S.
In addition to balance changes, Season 2 introduced a dynamic rain system that affects audio cues like footsteps and lowers visibility for pilots.
