A Foldable Alternative

Still looking for the iPhone Duo? A compelling deal offers a similar foldable experience for significantly less. Consider the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, available now if you're willing to switch from iOS to Android.

Significant Savings

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is currently available for $1,599 at Amazon. This marks one of the lowest prices observed, $100 less than its previous discount, and $400 cheaper than the iPhone Duo. Crucially, it's available immediately, avoiding the wait until January.

Design and Display Details

Like the iPhone Duo, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a wider, passport-shaped design. It boasts a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch foldable inner display, dimensions nearly identical to the iPhone Duo. However, Samsung's phone is notably thinner and lighter, weighing 7.09 ounces and measuring just 0.17 inches thick when fully opened.

The inner screen includes an anti-glare display, providing superior color accuracy compared to the iPhone Duo, ideal for media streaming. While its anti-crease technology isn't as advanced, Samsung's Flex Titanium display minimizes the crease significantly compared to many other foldables.

Key Specifications

Specifications include dual 48MP cameras, two 10MP selfie cameras (one on each display), 45W wired charging with 20W wireless charging, and up to 16GB of RAM on the 1TB model. It features a 4,800 mAh battery, though tests indicate it doesn't match the iPhone Duo's battery life.

Apple's foldable is noted for greater durability, adaptive screen adjustment based on hinge state, and vapor chamber cooling for enhanced performance. Despite these advantages, the Fold 8 delivers strong performance with its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, currently the top Android chipset available.

Is the Z Fold 8 Worth It?

Foldable phones are often expensive, but the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is becoming more accessible with these ongoing discounts. Given the substantial price reduction and positive user experience, this deal is a strong consideration for anyone seeking a foldable device.
